Welcome to the online home of the Abraham Lincoln Chapter, National Society Daughters
of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR). We are so glad you found us and hope that
you enjoy your visit.
Chances are you arrived here because you are interested in joining
the Daughters of the American Revolution. We are currently the only
chapter in
Logan County, Illinois. Chapter members live in many surrounding
communities and
our meetings are held at various locations. Membership in the DAR is
very rewarding as we foster the ideals of our National Society of
patriotism, historic preservation, and education. We participate in
many worthwhile activities and for more than 110 years have kept the
spirit of our American Revolutionary War ancestors alive.
Your male or
female ancestor did not have to serve as a soldier during that time,
but may have supported the cause in other ways, such as contributing
food or ammunition, signing a petition, or serving as a community

DAR offers many opportunities for service, such as working with youth,
encouraging members to get involved in their communities, to assist
with historic preservation and patriotic events, and promoting the
preservation of our family and local histories. It is a way to work
with others to make America a better place to live. Please take a

Membership
Membership in the DAR is very rewarding. To become a member, a woman must be at least 18 years old and be able to prove lineal, bloodline descent from a man or woman who helped in the cause of American independence between 1775 and 1783.When you join DAR, you become part of a network of more than
190,000 women who form lifelong bonds of friendship, honor the memory
of their American Revolutionary War ancestors, and promote historic preservation,

What We Do
The DAR was founded on October 11, 1890 to promote historic
