Abner Hanks

Abner, was born in Richmond County, Virginia, in 1763. He enlisted in the army at age 17 and was a Minuteman. After the American Revolutionary War, he moved to Kentucky. It is unclear whether he had five or six wives. But it is known that he had twenty one children! Some years later, he moved to Johnson County, Indiana where he was the first white settler. He died in 1846, and is buried in Lickspring Cemetery in Johnson County. In 1933, the DAR marked his grave.
Abner's father John, #A051133 is also an American Revolutionary War patriot.
