Patriotism

“The Flag Chapter”

Old Goshen Trail takes Americanism and The Flag of the United States of America seriously. Daughters never miss an opportunity to ‘raise their flags’ in honor of our country, in honor of the men and women who have served our country through the ages, and in honor of significant historical dates from our country’s history.

Members place The Flag of the United States of America around the historic 5th District Appellate Court House and the Illinois DAR Statue of Molly Pitcher and Tammy Duckworth on a regular basis to celebrate holidays and honor historic military service days. Members also gather along routes when “The Ride to the Wall” and HOOAH riders come through town.

Service

Lil’ Patriots

Old Goshen Trail chapter has supported Lil Patriots Embraced from Scott Air Force Base for a number of years now. Lil Patriots Embraced is an outreach to the children and families of service men and women who are overseas. We have multiple opportunities each year to support this group – from school supplies to Christmas gifts – to baby gifts. Our giving makes their lives easier while someone in their family served our country.
